Jasmine Women Part III
Finally the last dose of Jasmine Women:
I think that the movie is trying to portray the difficulties of a single mother trying to raise her daughter without a father. For all three generations, there was sort of only one parent raising the child, except for 阿花, who had both parents initially but after the death of her father, her mother also left, leaving her alone to live with her grandmother, 阿茉.
Starting from the grandmother, she as a young girl was inquisitive and wanted to try out new things and because of her innocence, she was cheated by her boss and later gave birth to 阿莉. Her mother had tried her best to warn her against being an actress but she refused to listen and in the end she just wasted her life although she had her fair share of fame. As a young girl, she was full of energy and curiosity and wanted to chase stars and stuff but parents at that time were not like parents nowadays, who try to be friends with their children in the midst of their family life, thus it was hard for a child to actually confide in their parents. This made things worse. However, as it got to 阿花, things changed and she was very close to her grandmother.
I suppose that motherly love is one of the greatest unconditional love. (not forgetting GOD's love for us all even though we sinned)
Another thing about this movie is that it showed the young girls always seek romance. When they fall in love, they tend to concentrate on the love and trust the person they love. Though trust is important, but not every guy is as good as they should. Nowadays it's hard to find a truly good guy I guess.
Overall, this is still a nice movie and I didn't regret watching it.
